Pm Modi Advise : Nowadays, various types of fraud are being done in the digital world. One of these is "digital arrest". This is a method of fraud in which cyber fraudsters threaten you by making phone or video calls, pretending to be police or other government officials, and try to extort money from you. Recently such cases have come to light. Keeping this in mind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 115th episode of his monthly radio program 'Mann Ki Baat' advised the countrymen to be aware of 'digital arrest' (Pm Modi Advise). He also gave a mantra of 'Wait-Think-Take-Action' to avoid cyber fraud.

Before talking about 'Digital Arrest', PM Modi showed a video related to it, through which he explained how the incidents of 'Digital Arrest' happen. He said fraudsters scare people by posing as police, CBI, narcotics or RBI officers. It is very important to understand and explain this dangerous game.

The PM said that people of all ages are falling prey to digital arrest and are losing their hard-earned lakhs due to fear. In such a situation, don't panic if you ever get such a call. You should know that no investigating agency ever conducts such inquiries through phone or video call.
How to avoid digital arrest?
He further explained the three steps to avoid digital arrest. PM explained the mantra of 'Wait-Think-Take Action'.
- One should stop at the first step and not share personal information. If possible, a screenshot or recording should be taken.
- In the second step, one should think and understand that no government agency ever gives such threats over phone and asks for money through video calls. If you feel fear then understand that something is wrong.
- While in the third step such fraud should be dealt with. This should be reported by dialing cyber helpline number 1930 and mail to www.cybercrime.gov.in.
Cyber cell is also making people aware about digital arrest
Cybercrime police have made digital arrests several times to make people aware of money laundering issue, cyber cell said that police do not digitally arrest anyone on phone calls. Neither the Supreme Court nor any other court hears such cases through phone calls.
RBI does not have a secret supervision account
Physical money from your account is not verified by RBI or any other body. There is no government bank account or secret supervision account of RBI into which money is transferred from you and verified. If someone commits fraud, report it to the police immediately.
Immediately contact your nearest police station or cyber cell
Thus, as a CBI officer, cyber officer, RBI or any other organization official, you get a phone call, internet, skype, zoom video call and are asked to transfer money in the name of investigation or money laundering.
